Welcome to Scout Troop 28

Proudly Scouting Since 1950

For over sixty years, Troop 28 has been building young men of excellent character through Scouting. We stress leadership, personal responsibility, fun, friendship and outdoor adventures.

Youth who have earned the Arrow of Light rank and are at least 10 years old, or have completed the fifth grade and are at least 10, or who are 11, but not yet 18 years old are welcome to join Troop 28.

For grades K - 5, contact Burlingame or Hillsborough CUB SCOUT Packs. 1) https://www.troopwebhostcs.org/Pack128Burlingame/Index.htm  2) https://www.facebook.com/hillsboroughcubs Pack 58

We are grateful to be sponsored by Saint Paul’s Episcopal Church, 415 El Camino Real, Burlingame. Our troop meetings are generally held the first and third Monday of each month, from 7 - 8:15 pm.  Click on Contact Us if you're interested in learning more about Troop 28 or would like to attend one of our meetings.

Our troop is Scout-led, and our adult staff is highly trained. Our emphasis is on quality, not quantity, and we achieve good results by having the parents of our Scouts reinforce the values of the Scout Oath and Scout Law at home.  Our parent group has high participation in providing the scaffolding for the scouts to build the program on.

Our troop is engaged in camping, hiking, backpacking, river rafting, skiing and service projects. We practice the patrol method, and emphasize creating experiences that are both meaningful and memorable.  Our troop culture practices what we call the straight A’s: attendance, appearance, activity, advancement, accountability, and awards.

Medical Forms for Summer Camp 2021

Posted on May 8 2021 - 11:14am

See more details around this annual ritual: https://blog.scoutingmagazine.org/2021/04/27/plan-now-to-complete-your-annual-health-and-medical-record-for-this-summer/

The Annual Health and Medical Record is required for Scouts and adults who are attending summer camp in 2021. Camp requires Forms A, B1, B2 and C be completed prior to attending summer camp https://www.t28burlingame.org/system/files/680001_ABC-1.pdf This applies to both scouts and adults.

Note that there are different parts to the form:

  • Part A is an informed consent, release agreement and authorization that needs to be signed by every participant (or a parent and/or legal guardian for all youth under 18).
  • Part B1 and B2 are general information and a health history. Requires immunization record and copy of front/back of your medical card)
  • Part C is the physical exam completed by a certified and licensed health care provider. (required for overnight trips over 72 hours ie: summer camps). The form is valid through the end of the 12th month after the date it was administered by your medical provider. For example, if you got your physical on Nov. 30, 2020, it’s valid until Nov. 29, 2021.

Print and sign 2 copies of Forms A, B1, B2, and C. Include 2 copies of the front/back of the insurance card and immunization record. Ensure Form C is signed by a physician.

Snail mail or deliver them to Secretary Troop 28, 307 Channing Road, Burlingame CA 94010. Electronic copies will not be accepted and will be returned.

Please let me know if you have any questions. Thanks, Marcy, SecretaryTroop28@gmail.com .
