Burlingame Bayfront Cleanup Day

Posted on Aug 27 2018 - 7:36am
Sep 15 2018 - 9:00 am -12 pm; 150 Anza Boulevard (behind Embassy Suites Hotel)

The annual waterway and land cleanup day overlaps with the California Coastal Cleanup Day. It is the largest volunteer event that brings the community together in removing trash from our waterways and protecting our marine environment.

Fun fact: the 2017 Coastal Cleanup Day reported over 42,000 volunteers who collectively picked up over 316,000 pounds of trash in only a few hours!

What to Bring:

Waiver Forms - Every participant is required to sign a waiver form. To make your check in faster, print, sign and bring the following waiver form with you on the day of the event. All volunteers under the age of 18 must have the waiver form signed by a parent or legal guardian before participating in a cleanup. https://www.smchealth.org/sites/main/files/file-attachments/2017_waiver_english_sanmateo.pdf

Bring/Wear - Carpool or bike to the location. Please bring your own buckets, gloves, and reusable water bottle to reduce our overall footprint during the event. Wear comfortable closed-toe shoes and bring sunscreen, sunglasses, or a hat.

Day of: Wear your Class B shirt. Check in at the site location sign-in table to receive direction from the Site Captain. Listen to the safety orientation, have fun, and be safe!

You will get 3 Conservation Service Hours by participating in this Clean Up Day. Register on the Troop Website.

Burlingame scouts continue projects despite pandemic

Posted on Mar 6 2021 - 5:39pm

Hubert Chen - a Troop 28 Eagle Scout - wrote an article in the Burlingame High School newspaper, the Burlingame B, about Scouting projects during the pandemic. It features Johnny Willey's Eagle Project! Read it here: https://theburlingameb.org/3893/showcase/burlingame-scouts-continue-capstone-projects-despite-pandemic
