Fishing & Overnight Camping April 19-21

Camping:

- At Joseph D. Grant County Park approximately 1 hour from Burlingame (Park Info: https://www.sccgov.org/sites/parks/parkfinder/Pages/JosephDGrant.aspx)
- Checkin time is 3:00 PM Friday and checkout is 11:00 AM on Sunday. The scouts can join for one or two nights and come/leave as their schedule permits.  
 
Fishing:
- Sat morning 
- At Grant Lake which is about a 1-mile easy walk from the campsite. You can fish for Bluegill and Largemouth Bass. 
- Scouts 16 yrs and younger will not need fishing license.
- For others who want to fish, licenses can be purchased at Big 5 Sporting Goods, 2825 S El Camino Real, San Mateo, (650) 570-6565 or online at: https://www.ca.wildlifelicense.com/InternetSales/
- Fishing poles with reasonable quality and prices can be purchased at Target and Big 5 
- Noah has a few fishing poles and some fishing gear which he can make available to the scouts
 
Lick observatory visit (time and logistics permitting):
-  Sat afternoon 
-  Join a short talk/tour inside the dome of the 36" Refractor telescope
 
Equipment checkout and meal planning:
- Location: St Paul's Higbie Hall
- Date/Time: 4/17 7pm

Food Drive for the Samaritan House

With so many people unemployed right now, our community needs your help! Please consider donating food/toiletries to the Samaritan House, the largest provider of meals and groceries to those in need right here in San Mateo County.

WHAT to donate:

  • Canned foods like fruits/vegetables, soup, tuna, beans
  • Packaged foods like cereal, rice, pasta, granola bars
  • Toiletries like shampoo, toothpaste, soap, hand sanitizer
  • Baby Formula, baby food, diapers
