On Sunday, April 29th, Matt Tragoutsis and Peter Gum will lead a hike along the Fifield-Cahill trail into the pristine Crystal Springs Watershed (accessible only via docent-led tours). We'll start from the Cemetery Gate entrance by initially meeting at the turnout on north side of Highway 92 at Upper Skyline Blvd, just before the entrance to Skylawn Cemetery. We'll hike in for 3-4 miles along 10 foot service road in the dense cypress pine forest and emerge along the ridge for spectacular views of the Bay. Bring a daypack, lunch, and water. Wear good hiking shoes, hat, sunglasses, sunscreen. We will leave from the turnout no later than 8:45 and cannot return for stragglers (so plan to arrive at 8:30).
This hike can fulfill a requirement for Tenderfoot and the Hiking Merit Badge. Sign up on the Troop Website so we know who to wait for!

PARADE WALK AND FLOAT. Troop 28 was one of the original participants in the Hillsborough Memorial Day Parade, both as: (1) a walking group carrying the Troop 28 Banner, and (2) riding on the Gomez Iron Works flag float (in the back of Scoutmaster Mike Johnston’s pick-up truck).
The Town has requested that Troop 28 continue its Parade tradition by participating in the Parade as usual for 2018 by: (1) a walking group carrying the Troop 28 Banner; (2) riding on the Gomez Iron Works flag float (in the back of Scoutmaster Mike Johnston’s pick-up truck).
We need as many Scouts as possible for the walking group carrying the Troop Banner. Sign up on the Troop Website We need six (6) Scouts to ride in Scoutmaster Johnston’s flag float (pick-up truck).
COLOR GUARD. Also, because of the great performance, last year, the Town has requested that Troop 28 supply a Scout Color Guard to present the Colors (short flag ceremony) on stage at the Crocker School Field immediately after the Parade (11:00-11:15 a.m.)
We need three (3) senior Scouts for the Color Guard.
